Youth’s Benefit Elementary is committed to providing a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process for all students. For the 2025–2026 school year, our car rider procedures have been updated to improve safety and traffic flow.
Morning Car Rider Arrival Procedures
To improve safety and traffic flow during morning arrival, we have updated our car rider procedures. Please review the following steps carefully:
1. Entrance Location
All car riders must enter campus through the entrance marked with the red circle on the map (near the eastern end of Fallston Road).
This is the safest and efficient entrance for car rider drop-off in the morning.
The entrance marked with a pink “X” is for buses only — no cars may enter there.
2. No Left Turns Into Campus
If you are approaching Youth’s Benefit from a direction where you would make a left turn into the campus for arrival, you must first pass the school and either:
Turn around at the Veronica "Roni" Chenowith Center, or
Turn around at Oakmont Road
You should then approach the car rider entrance from the opposite direction to make a right turn into campus.
No left turns are permitted into the campus during arrival for safety and traffic flow reasons.
3. Drop-Off Location
After entering through the designated car rider entrance, follow the traffic flow toward the designated location.
Students will be dropped off at the location marked with the yellow star on the map, in front of the upper parking lot entrance.
Please have your child ready to exit the vehicle quickly (backpack on, goodbye said) to keep traffic moving.
4. Traffic Direction
A staff member will be stationed outside to direct traffic flow during departure from campus.
Please follow all staff directions — they are there to ensure safety and efficiency.
5. Safety Reminders
Remain in the car rider line; do not attempt to bypass other vehicles.
Pull all the way forward to the designated drop-off area before stopping.
Students should exit from the passenger side only.
Do not park or leave your car unattended in the drop-off lane.
Afternoon Car Rider Dismissal Procedures
To ensure a safe and efficient dismissal, please follow the procedures below:
1. Entrance Location
All car riders must enter campus through the same entrance marked with the red circle on the morning arrival map (near the eastern end of Fallston Road).
This is the entrance for car rider dismissal ensure safety during arrival and dismissal.
The entrance marked with an “X” on the morning map is for buses only — no cars may enter there.
2. No Left Turns Into Campus
If you are approaching Youth’s Benefit from a direction where you would make a left turn into the campus, you must first pass the school and either:
Turn around at the Veronica "Roni" Chenowith Center, or
Turn around at Oakmont Road and enter the Chenworth Center
Then, approach the entrance from the opposite direction to make a right turn into campus.
No left turns are permitted into the campus during dismissal.
3. Student Pick-Up Location
Students will be dismissed from the upper location where the yellow star is marked on the map (front of the school).
4. Dismissal Timing
Car rider loading will begin around 3:30 PM once all car rider students are accounted for.
Cars will only be released from the loading area when there is a green light at the traffic signal at the school’s main bus entrance.
If the light is red, the staff member will hold cars until the light turns green to prevent backups onto Fallston Road.
5. Coordinating with Bus Departure
Once all buses are ready to depart, car dismissal will be temporarily halted so buses can exit safely without being blocked by cars.
Cars will follow the same outbound path as the buses after the buses have cleared the area.
This alternating release helps keep traffic flowing smoothly and prevents congestion.
6. Safety Reminders
Follow the direction of all staff members on duty.
Remain in your vehicle at all times.
Pull all the way forward before stopping to load your child.
Students should enter from the passenger side only.
